Inurban launches a major project: Musgrave España's logistics platform takes shape in Monforte del Cid

Thursday 19 October saw the laying of the foundation stone of this major logistics project that the company Inurbanpromotes in the Alicante town of Monforte del Cid to Musgrave Españaa leading company in the distribution and sale of food and drugstore products through retail outlets under the Dialprix, Dicost and Dialsur cash & carry brands.

The logistics centre, which will have 27,000 square metresis being built on a 63,000 square metre site and the project is scheduled for completion in approximately 12 months.

Located in the industrial estate of this city in the Medio Vinalopó region, it is a strategic enclave, The site has a large amount of space for construction and installations and, on the other hand, it has immediate access to the A-31 motorway, which gives it an excellent connection to the Mediterranean Corridor, the Alicante-Elche airport and the port of Alicante.

During the official ceremony marking the laying of the first stone, the Mayor of Monforte del Cid, Juan José Hernández, Luis López, Managing Director of Musgrave España, and Francisco Muñoz, President of Inurban, highlighted the excellent location of this new logistics project. The event was also attended by Noel Keeley, general manager of the Musgrave Group, and Catherine Lamber, director of development and strategic transformation.

Regarding the location of the asset, Luis López, general manager of Musgrave España, pointed out that "we have found a location right next to the motorway, which greatly simplifies access both for our lorries leaving and our suppliers' lorries coming in".

For Francisco Muñoz, president of Inurban, the location is "ideal for large companies such as Musgrave" as well as for other companies that may arrive in the future. Among the advantages, he pointed out its proximity to the airport and its accessibility to key cities such as Elche, Alicante, Alcoy and Novelda, among others.

The development of this logistics centre represents a further step in Inurban's sustainability strategy, as it aspires to obtain certification BREEAM® Good. To achieve this recognised environmental seal of approval, photovoltaic panels will be installed on the roof and the interior lighting will be LED lighting with presence detectors for luminaires in corridors, social areas and the changing room area.

Moreover, the start-up of this logistics centre will not only boost the local economy, but will also generate long-term employment in Monforte del Cid and the region, providing direct work for more than 150 people.

With this new implementation, Inurban continues to consolidate its position as one of the country's leading developers of logistics spaces, offering sustainable, well-located and quality buildings for its clients.
